Community Interview #26: Kristina


Meet Kristina. Our friend in British Columbia, Canada. She joined us last season for Mindful Flow 1 (Coming Back to You) with Niamh our yoga teacher in Thailand. We loved her presence in the class and we wanted to get to know her a little more. Here’s the star of the week…


Hi Kristina! Tell us a little bit about yourself! Who is Kristina?

Kristina: I am a Holistic Empowerment and Coach for Women.


How did you meet Alex?

Kristina: I started following Alex on Instagram because of her sober community.


What inspired you to start practicing yoga?

Kristina: I have practiced yoga for over 14 years and began practicings to help my mental health.


Have you ever had any experience with yoga before joining the MLPC?

Kristina: Yes. I am also a 200 HR CYT.


How did you end up being so committed to yoga?

Kristina: It changed my relationship with my mind, body and spirit.


Did you face any challenges during the month of January?

Kristina: Just the usual stuff. LOL.


What are the biggest benefits you’ve reaped from your yoga practice?

Kristina: Feeling present and safe in my body.


What’s your favorite posture?

Kristina: King Dancer.


What’s your most difficult posture?

Kristina: I cannot do Wheel Pose.


What is your favorite type(s) of yoga? And why?

Kristina: I love yoga Nidra, Hatha and Restorative yoga. I love slowing down and getting present and into my body while slowing down my mind.


Any words of wisdom to those just starting out?

Kristina: Trust the process and listen to your body, it has all the answers.
