Community Interview #21: Jessica

Meet Jessica. Our friend in Brazil. She joined us this season for the Abundance Manifestation (Let Go) class with Alex. Jessica and Alex met in the last Yoga studio where Alex used to teach yoga part time in Abu Dhabi before she founded the MLPC. Fun fact: Jessica is also a yoga teacher. After moving from Abu Dhabi the two stayed in touch via Instagram and Jessica is a huge supporter of our IG accounts. It was so amazing to finally have her in one of our live sessions. Get to know Jessica more as I interview her for the blog…

Hi Jessica! Tell us a little bit about yourself! Who is Jessica?

Jessica: A Yoga teacher and a spiritual seeker. Also a former Flight attendant and former Bellydancer. 😊

What inspired you to start practicing yoga?

Jessica: I had a bellydance school in the past, and we used to have a Yoga teacher in the school. I tried Yoga and loved it since that time. Latter I started practicing each time more, and more. Did my Yoga Teacher Training in 2019 and started teaching after that.

Have you ever had any experience with yoga before joining the MLPC?

Jessica: Yes, since 2012.

What’s your connection to the MLPC?

Jessica: Alex and her inspiring personality!

How did you end up being so committed to Abundance Manifestation (Let Go) class?

Jessica: I have my own business now, and I consider Alex is a great example of an entrepreneur to follow!

Did you face any challenges during the month of September?

Jessica: So far, September was the best month for my business, since I started 1 year ago.

What are the biggest benefits you’ve reaped from your yoga practice?

Jessica: Healthy body, mind and spirit.

What’s your favorite posture?

Jessica: Supta Baddha Konasana [Reclining Bound Angle Pose aka Butterfly Pose].

What’s your most difficult posture?

Jessica: Sirsasana [Headstand pose].

What is your favorite type(s) of yoga? And why?

Jessica: Hatha and Ashtanga. It’s just my style.

Any words of wisdom to those just starting out?

Jessica: I will leave a quote from Cindy Lee: "Falling out of balance doesn't matter, really and truly. How we deal with that moment and how we find our way back to center, every day, again and again - that is the practice of Yoga...it's about trusting that you will find your way."

Thank you so much Jessica! It’s been so great having you this season. If you have a question or comment make sure to leave them in the comment below.
