After a yoga-inspired warm-up, we will move into power mode - toning and strengthening the body with functional movement exercises set to upbeat music. Depending on the theme, there may be a yoga flow interlude or a cardio burst, with low impact options offered. We'll seamlessly transition into a powerful core section, and then a mindful stretch at the end. You'll leave having strengthened and stretched your body, and centered your mind. A chair or countertop in place of a Barre is highly recommended for balance and support. The first half of Sober Flow and Let Go is a more dynamic vinyasa inspired sequence of postures with the objective of building heat and moving energy. The second half is focused on yin or restorative postures: an introspective practice in stillness and patience. We will hold seated and supine yin or restorative postures for a long duration of time, getting a deep stretch for the tissues and releasing tension from the body. Yoga for Everyone Workshop with Leigh

No matter what you look like, how you feel or what your abilities are, you can do yoga! This workshop will show you how to practice and enjoy yoga. You will be given tools to adapt your practice to your own body to make yoga more accessible and enjoyable. Yoga does not look the same for everyone, and everyone can benefit from the tools of yoga. Join me to learn how! For this workshop you may like to have on hand the following props for adapting your practice: A yoga mat - thicker for additional cushioning or stickier to prevent sipping are factors to consider. Blocks - yoga blocks come in a variety of weights, shapes and sizes. They are helpful for various poses. A stack of books can be used if blocks are not available to you. Bolster - A sturdy cushion can help provide softer support in various poses. Blanket - A Mexican blanket or yoga blanket can be folded to use in place of a bolster or cushion. They can also be placed flat on the mat for extra cushioning for your knees. A large thick towel can also be used for this. Strap - Straps can be very useful to extend your reach. A belt, neck tie, dog leash, sash or scarf can also be used. Wall - An easy prop to find because they are everywhere. Clearing out space in front of a wall so it can be used to help with balancing as well as a place to rest your legs for ‘legs up the wall” for example. A steady chair without arms - A chair can be helpful for anyone with limited mobility or flexibility. A chair can be used in a variety of ways to take weight off your legs, offer support for balancing, or shorten the distance to reach to the floor. -- If you enjoyed this class, please make sure to subscribe to our channel, and also check out our other offerings. Members...We are so excited to bring you a new...Mindful Life Practice On Demand Yoga Membership Portal!

 

This new addition to the monthly & annual Online Membership was designed for our Online Members. We've discovered that many people sign up for our membership after a Sober Girls Yoga Challenge, or Yoga Teacher Training program with the MLPC, and are like...now what?

 

We have over 3,000 On Demand Videos in the MLPC archives - but we've realized that people seem to thrive on structure, accountability, and routine. When people left our structured yoga challenges, they fell out of practice. That's why we've created this Program specifically for our monthly and annual members.

 

In this program, we've selected our favourite classes that we've filmed over the past three years. Each month will feature a theme from yoga philosophy. We've chosen classes that will give you a balanced yoga practice. Each week will follow the following structure:

Monday - Mindful Flow & Let Go

Thursday - Mindful Let Go
